I can’t hear much of an audience, but maybe they were just astounded by and fixated on what they were seeing, that is the happiest dj in the world.

Another superb animation from the Italian street artist Blu.
A friend showed me this recently, and i was amazed i had never heard of it before. Salvador Dali and Walt Disney collaborate on a beautiful short. Good Stuff!
(Directed) handmade by Irina Dakeva @ Wizz, and is composed of approx 2000 watercoloured images painted one after another.

This is my friend Elliott during the European architectural road trip - legend.
Just came across this. It seems to be circulating the internet like wildfire, but for any that haven’t seen it, its a real treat. Produced by a Singaporean animation student called Serene Teh. Enjoy!
A double whammy post of aural and visual wonders.
Joe Flory aka Primary 1 (Blog/MySpace) has gradually been gaining public awareness following his debut release ‘Hold Me Down’ in 2008 on Erol Alkan’s label Phantasy. Since then he has released a duo of light hearted party tracks in collaboration with Riton (Who’s There? and Radiate). Recently however saw the free release of ‘Mess Detective‘, a 15 track collection of demos and early works. It’s a mix of dreamy delights and stompy funk tracks, which shows real promise for his forthcoming album and UK tour supporting Ellie Goulding.
I was delighted to spend a day with Joe when I helped out with the filming of a video for the track ‘Foaming’, which has yet to see the light of day. An infectious track with clear accessible lyrics and sounds. He’s a super nice guy and talented too. His ability to play a wide arsenal of instruments that assist him in the writing and performance of songs, along with his voice, begin to reveal the potential waiting to shine.
Here’s my favourite from the mess album. An instrumental layered guitar track with warm fuzzy bass rolls and sweeping gentle synths.
Also worth a listen are two mini mixes available on his mixcloud.
All of this posts visuals are courtesy of Audrey Anastasy, whom I first came across when I saw two tracks from the mess album had utilised some of her motion pictures. The online portfolio is full of colourful illustration, photography and animation. The layering and mix of media gives the work an appreciable handmade aesthetic that is full of enchantment and fantasy.
Director Stéphanie Di Gusto has produced this beautiful video for the launch of Vanessa Bruno’s Spring 2010 collection. It features model/actress Lou Doillon in a dreamy reality where three differing emotive scenes are accompanied by their own delightful piece of music. Stephanie’s photography is also worth checking out.
Alex Roman has single handedly produced this computer generated animated film that illustrates architecture art across a photographic point of view. The subjects are already built spaces, with some occasional surreal additions. A selection of random compositing breakdown shots video further emphasises the incredible skill applied. It’s simply astounding!
Despite drum n bass, like most people my age, being my real introduction into bass music, nowadays i have little time for the genre or efforts by its producers. Being a dubstep enthusiast for the best part of the last decade, i have witnessed the huge influence of drum n bass timbres upon the sound i love; as dubstep gradually becomes more mainstream. However there are individuals who stand alone from the mass crowd, and are exciting my ears with their explorations in the fringe of music genres. None of these here are on an explicit dubstep tip, but it is the reference to sounds and techniques used in the genre which i can’t get enough of.
Instra:mental were getting love everywhere in 2009. But, i realised, everywhere except on Pejhy. So although this is not new material, it remains fresh, and expresses what i really love in music today. The duo are riding sound waves which uncurl from a liquidy drum n bass root and roll continuously through soundscapes ranging from dubstep to deep house. Pure Bliss!
The next artist featured here is Consequence hailing from Melbourne. This track is lifted from his album Live for Never which dropped towards the end of 2009, and features artisits such as Instra:mental and dBridge. “What marks it out—and to a degree which, in the recent history of drum & bass, only dBridge’s The Gemini Principle equals—is its refusal to make concessions in the name of sales, airplay, MC compatibility and such like. There are no “big tunes,” no crushing breaks, no epic drops and, most pleasingly in a genre blighted by trite samples, no vocals. It’s simply one man’s vision of dark, futuristic bass music, and a powerful articulation—indeed, the most powerful one yet—of the Autonomic sound. Music that those outside the scene can, and really should, look to.” -- RA (full review)
Riton has produced another fine re-rub for newcomers Delphic. Their forthcoming debut album ‘Acolyte’, due for release on 11.01.10, is an indie-dance number sharing familiarities with Bloc Party and The Klaxons. However, their individual appeal is brought by their provision of fresh new sounds and song variation across the album. Get a taster of the aural delights from their performance on Jools Holland.
Delphic – Doubt (Riton Re-Rub)
Another epic video and remix by friend James Connolly (L-Vis 1990).
A treat for your eyes and ears, allowing your mind to wander into the land of daydreams.
A couple of video treats today, both with aural and visual qualities.
First is a previously featured video by Ian Stevenson. After a long period of youtube removal ‘Stare Into The Sun’ is back for our eyes and ears to enjoy.
Second be something relatively new, being released on November 17th. Flairs bass full, kraut rocky instrumental has been given a visual aspect with this 8-bit style production by newcomer Jérémie Perin. It’s très funny, très dirty, très sexy, tres pejhy!

Following Vitalic’s recent LP ‘Flashmob’, ‘Poison Lips’ and a brand new track ‘Bluesy Tuesday’ have been packaged into an EP release. ‘Poison Lips’ is reminiscent of ‘Ok Cowboy’ content with some plucky disco bass. ‘Bluesy Tuesday’ is something a little new, it sounds like Vitalic with a sprinkle of Boy 8-Bit. Magnificent!
Vitalic – Bluesy Tuesday (Preview) [BUY]
I was getting my hair cut last week and this song came on the radio. Little did I know whilst listening to it that Riton & Primary 1 had collaborated again. Splendid saxophone sounding synths, pitch bend pleasure and light hearted video.
